Romy Phillips is a former arts administrator from New York City. After completing a BFA in painting and sculpture at the Maryland Institute College of Art; and a MFA in Arts Administration at Columbia University she embarked on a decade of roles for prominent arts organizations, namely The Museum of Modern Art and The Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum. The pressures and stress of work and city life led her by chance to Los Angeles in 1999, where in spite of her artistic pursuits, a life devoted to health took over. She walked into City Yoga one spring day in 1999 and her life took a dramatic turn which led her on the path to becoming a yoga teacher.
Romy has been teaching in the Los Angeles area since 2001. She completed a number of teacher trainings is currently leading her second training for Yoga Works at YogaPlus in Tokyo, Japan. “Living a Better Life Through Yoga” highlights her life experiences as a yoga teacher the message she tries to share with her students.
